Utica, NY (5-21-12) – Head Coach Blaise Faggiano and the Utica College football coaching staff will be directing four camps this Summer at Utica College.

June 25th-27th 6-9 p.m. @ West Irondequoit High School, Irondequoit, NY

Overnight T-N-T Camp
June 28th-29th @ Utica College – Utica, NY

Age of Campers: 12-18

Camp Objectives: The camps will emphasize the fundamentals of balance, leverage, and power as they relate to offensive and defensive line play. Drills will promote competition as well as improvement of basic line techniques. The techniques covered will include run and pass blocking, stance and start, pass rush, and ways to defeat various offensive blocking schemes.

Staff: College and High School line coaches from across the Northeast. We guarantee one coach per 10 campers.

Equipment/Requirements: The camp will be conducted in “uppers.” Campers must supply their own helmets, chin straps, shoulder pads, practice jerseys and mouth pieces. It is also recommended that campers bring molded or screw in cleats for the playing surface. Check all equipment prior to entering camp.

Facilities: West Irondequoit & Utica College both have all-purpose playing surfaces (field turf) with lights.

Cost:   Utica, NY – TNT Overnight – $150
Rochester, NY – Evening Camp – $80

* Forms are due by June 11, 2012. A late fee of $20 will be added if form is received after this date.

Fees: Enclose fee with the application. The fee includes a camp T-shirt. Please indicate on the registration form if you are a Center or Long Snapper. You will receive an email response confirming registration prior to camp.

Monday, July 9th – Thursday, July 12th 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Camp Philosophy: The camp is designed to provide a contact football experience for high school athletes in Section III. Teams and individuals are encouraged to attend. All high school coaches who have athletes attending the camp are invited to assist. High school coaches will have the opportunity to run their offense & defense during team periods.

Equipment Requirements: The camp will be conducted in “uppers.” Campers must supply their own helmets, chin straps, shoulder pads, practice jerseys and mouth pieces. It is also recommended that campers bring molded or screw in cleats. Check all equipment prior to entering camp. Please write your last name on some athletic tape and place it on the front of your helmet. This will help our coaching staff tremendously.

Cost: $75 Pre-Registered (June 29th)/$90 at the door/walk-in
The fee includes a camp T-shirt. You will receive an email response confirming registration prior to camp.

Staff: Instruction will be provided by the Utica College football staff, players, and high school coaches from the Mohawk Valley.

Monday, July 9th – Thursday, July 12th 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Ages: 7-14

Camp Philosophy: Campers will be divided into separate groups by age. The camp is designed to provide a positive football experience for youth players in the Mohawk Valley. Individual and group instruction will take place on the basic skills needed to play football. Special emphasis will be placed on safety while learning the basic skills of blocking, tackling and catching. Each player will learn offensive, defensive, and special teams positions. Through fun and exciting stations and drills campers will receive top quality instruction from the UC Football Staff. Each day will end with a fun game of “Moose Ball.” Teams and individuals are encouraged to attend. All area youth football coaches are invited to join us and use the camp as a learning environment. Coaches are welcome to take notes and video tape the drills for use in their program.

Cost: $65 Pre-registered (June 22nd)/$75 at the door/walk-in
Fee includes a camp T-shirt. Camp shirt provides free admission to any 2012 UC Football Home Game.

Equipment: Non-Contact Camp, T-shirt, shorts, and cleats are required. Bring a water jug and snack.

Drop Off & Pick Up: Clark Athletic Center next to the Charles A. Gaetano Stadium on the campus of Utica College. In case of bad weather we will go into the building and watch a movie until the weather breaks. On the first day of camp please arrive 15-30 minutes early to help with registration.

4th Annual “Air it Out” 7 on 7 Passing Tournament at Utica College
Sunday, July 29th at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium

Camp Format:  If the full field of 24 teams is met there will be both a Large School and Small School bracket. Any JV squads are automatically entered into the small school bracket. You will compete in a round-robin format consisting of 4 games in the morning, then be seeded and compete in a single-elimination tournament format in the afternoon. Once you are eliminated from tournament play you may schedule games against other eliminated teams at your discretion. We will still provide officials for these games as well. You will compete against other teams from across the Northeast in a 7 on 7 passing game format. The use of a center to snap the ball is highly encouraged. There will be championship T-shirts presented after the two championship games. This is a non contact camp. No equipment (Helmets, Shoulder Pads, etc) will be allowed. Your team is guaranteed to play a minimum of 5 games!  The rules and bracket format will be mailed to you when you return the team application registration from.

Camp Eligibility: Students that are enrolling or are enrolled at their school as freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors for the Fall of 2012 are eligible to participate in our camp. Each participant is responsible for his own medical coverage and must show proof of health insurance. Players without medical insurance are ineligible to participate.

Cost: $360 Per Team

Fee Includes: Camp T-shirt and a picnic lunch for every player and coach. Picnic lunch included thanks to Sodexo Food Services.

What to Bring: Footballs as well as dark and light colored jerseys for ease of competition. Coaches are required to bring their own first aid kit and are responsible for the treatment of injuries. We will have an athletic trainer on site to assist with any serious injuries. Also, cleats for both grass and Field Turf surfaces.

UC FOOTBALL-LOCAL RECRUITS NAMED

Big news announced this afternoon on ESPN Radio as Fred Miller and Gene Conte welcomed Utica College head coach Blasie Faggiano in to talk Pioneers football.

Assistant coaches, Curt Fitzpatrick, George Penree and Will Pluff also joined in to spread the word about the upcoming season.

One of the highlights, of the hour long interview, was the announcement of the names of the latest Central New York area players to join the UC football family.

Local football fans will be excited to welcome this well rounded class to the family!

With this influx of new talent, 42 freshmen, and 26 returning starters coach Faggiano and company can’t wait to get started to prepare for the new season.
